Beliefs ty whelan

Beliefs have to power to create or destroy.

Most of our beliefs are based on past experiences and how much pain or pleasure those experiences created for us. Even if a belief is not real, once accepted, that belief can affect our whole nervous system because our unconscious mind believes that it is real and will react accordingly.

Have you ever thought of a possible horrible experience only to feel a sudden adrenaline rush? Or, have you remembered a beautiful intimate time with your partner and once again your heart skips a beat and you feel those feelings throughout your body?

Thinking about the consequences of a possible scenario, although nothing has actually happened to you, but you believe that something might, your belief systems come into action and affect you physically as well as mentally. It’s these belief processes that can cause anxiety attacks, phobias and other emotional problems. The problems happen only because the person suffering them believes that it can happen to them. They can suffer physical attacks, their body chemistry can change, they can lose their breath and even lose consciousness. All based on what they believe in their own mind.

How powerful is that?

Do you believe that you can take control of this behaviour and use it in a positive way?

You can.

You can change your belief systems if they are having a negative effect on your life. It is also possible to create whole new beliefs that your unconscious mind can take on in order for you to make positive changes in your life.

I went through a period in my life where I was single for a very long time. I started to foster beliefs that women did not like me and that I could never have a girlfriend. Over a long period of time these beliefs became a reality in my mind and I even started to resent women and blamed them for my unhappiness. It’s fascinating how your mind can warp reality and create beliefs in an effort to protect yourself from pain. The pain for me was facing up to the reality that I needed to fix issues within myself before I could ever be attractive to anyone else.

Once I took action to make those changes, my beliefs began to change within my unconscious mind. How I took action and changed is another article within itself and honestly, I could probably write a whole book about it. But, needless to say, I did make those changes, slowly but surely.

The point I want to make here is that once I changed my beliefs of how I saw myself, my appearance to other people changed as well. Once I believed that I was worthwhile I projected this positive attitude outwards to others around me.

I’m happy to say that now I have an exciting relationship with a lovely girl that grows more and more every day that we spend together.

Another way of changing your beliefs is to celebrate your success. Acknowledging and appreciating achievements is important to creating new beliefs. By celebrating your achievements you remember what it is like to enjoy those moments. Your mind will remember those feelings of celebration and you will be able to create that same energy again in the future.

You may already do this from time to time without even realising. Have you ever told a story to someone or a group of a great time you had? You share your experience with the people listening to your story and you actually relive the event over again. When telling the story your body will experience the exact same pleasures as the time that the event actually happened. You feel good by telling the story and this enhances the experience.

You can do this with any experience that you have, whether is business, personal, professional or within relationships. When you achieve something important or enjoy success, celebrate it!!

By reliving your celebration with your work collegues or peers you enhance into your unconscious the belief that you are a successful person and that you deserve your breakthrough to success.

It’s beyond the scope of this article to teach you exactly how to change your belief systems, but if you experience enough emotional intensity with an idea, your nervous system will accept that idea as being real, even if it has not yet occurred. This idea can then be manifested into a belief that will propel you forward with new knowledge that you can achieve and succeed.

Seeing yourself in a future event achieving your goal, experiencing every moment, every feeling, every emotion, sounds, tastes, smells. This level of intensity will install a powerful belief that you can and will succeed. Disassociate yourself from the future event, back into the present and propel yourself towards the future that is already realised in your unconscious mind.

Seek out assistance from someone in your local area. Whether it’s a Certified NLP Practitioner, a qualified Counsellor or a Psychologist, having a professional guide you through this process will ensure success and allow you to move forward to new frontiers.
