Dyan Garris is a clairvoyant spiritual counselor, author, and #1 charting New Age recording artist. In 2005, she began creating a Spiritual Toolbox for people to use for self-empowerment. This includes a series of music and meditation CDs that work together for multi-dimensional and integrative healing, Automatic Chakra Balance, help in sleeping, relaxation, and vibrational attunement of mind, body, and spirit. She describes her newest book, Money and Manifesting, as a tool that is at the top of the “toolbox.”

Here she tells us what’s different about this book, what’s missing from The Secret, and explains what we can do to move forward.

I recently worked with Dyan Garris as she prepared for a virtual book tour for her book Money and Manifesting. I wondered what could possibly be new on the subject of manifesting. As we began working on scheduling radio interviews and blog choices, I had a chance to ask a number of questions about manifesting the Law of Attraction and what makes her teaching different from the other information available on manifesting or from the basic principles in The Secret. Much to my surprise, I discovered that like almost everyone else, I was approaching manifesting from a whole different perspective.

Nikki: What inspired you to write Money and Manifesting?

Dyan: I had Money and Manifesting in my head for about a year before I actually wrote it. It was the next tool in the Spiritual Toolbox I’ve been building. I was counseling a lot of people who were applying the principles they learned in The Secret and they weren’t manifesting anything or they were manifesting in a limited fashion. The Law of Attraction and the power of positive thinking are only a part of the manifesting process. I was seeing people getting frustrated, giving up, and returning to their old patterns.

Nikki: Is there anything wrong with focusing on what we want to attract?

Dyan: It is absolutely fine to have wants, needs, and desires and to express those in the form of intention. What really gets in the way of manifesting is when we demand from a place of ego that those things show up and when we demand exactly how they show up. This isn’t creating or manifesting. It is a child asking Santa Claus to bring them what they desire. This keeps us stuck in entitlement and in non-forward moving energy.

Nikki: Can we manifest with the power of our minds?

Dyan: The real power of manifesting is in knowing how to align your will and intention with the universal will, and then integrating that into your life. In this way you are not manifesting from your ego, but manifesting from your divine right to create.

The energy of the power of creation lives in our root chakra, not in our brains. For example, we cannot create a child using just the power of our minds. To do so we must engage the seat of creation – the root chakra. That energy is designed intrinsically and biologically to travel in an upward motion. To try to create things with the mind is energetically backward.

Nikki: Does money have the power to bring happiness, or is this an illusion?

Dyan: As long as we believe that money itself has the power to transform, to make us happy, to bring us fulfillment and solve all our problems, we keep ourselves stuck. We limit ourselves and the ultimate ability of the universe to provide. Our belief in this illusion is what fuels the “power” of money. As long as we give power to these pieces of paper to have dominion over us, we truly give our power away. We need to get the distortion and fear we’ve created around the energy of money into perspective.

Nikki: Does the Law of Attraction really work and why do some people have trouble getting it to work for them?

Dyan: Yes, the Law of Attraction works. It’s a universal law. And the power of positive thinking works as well. Form definitely follows thought. However, this is not manifesting. This is attracting. And it is attracting from only one level. It’s coming from a linear perspective. Employing the power of the Law of Attraction is but one step in the process of manifesting.

Hordes of people have discovered to their dismay that they are no closer to achieving their wants, needs, and desires than they were before they began applying the principles in The Secret. They do not understand why. People that are blocked at their very core are going to have challenges with manifesting.

Nikki: What is missing from what we’ve been taught about manifesting?

Dyan: In order to manifest anything, including money, the ego-self and the thinking-part of self need to come together in alignment with the feeling part of self. All of the energy bodies need to come together and work in harmony. Then you are co-creating, and opening a flow, rather than demanding and dictating that things show up the way you want them to. Those who are using only the Law of Attraction or the Power of Positive Thinking are attempting to manifest with only the thinking part of themselves. You will be able to attract energy this way, but this isn’t manifesting.

Manifesting is an integrative process involving collective energy from more than just the mind. In order to manifest anything effectively, in order to shift energy, we need to integrate the intrinsic energy present in all the chakras.

Nikki:
When you talk about transformation or transforming energy what do you mean? Can you give us an example of transforming energy?

Dyan: Everything is energy. Money is energy. It’s a form of exchange. The representation of that is paper. The paper itself has no real power. But the energy of money does, because we believe it does. Our belief system fuels the energy of money. We firmly believe that money has power and so it does.

Here is a basic example of transforming energy:

Let’s say we take a raw egg. It’s an egg. Whether we scramble it, fry it or boil it, it’s still an egg; but its form has changed. The energy of it has changed. So it is still an egg, but now it vibrates differently than it did as a raw egg. There are a lot of things you can do with a hard-boiled egg that you cannot do with a raw egg.

Taking this a bit further, if we add a raw egg to a cake batter and then bake the cake, the energy of the egg, which is still an egg, transforms into something that makes the cake rise. By doing something different with the raw material we have basically transformed the energy of it.

So if we’re talking about transforming the energy of money, it’s about really understanding at a basic level what money really is and then transforming that base energy into something you can use in a different way.

Nikki: What’s so different about what you’re saying in the book or the way you’re saying it?

Dyan: Parts of the book, Money and Manifesting, are fictionalized. There is a story wrapped around the information. The main purpose of this is so that while you are reading, your left brain integrates with your right brain to effect an automatic shift in your energy. You use a different part of your brain to process raw information than you do to process a story. My body of work is about automatic energy shift. I designed the book so that just by reading, you’ve automatically taken a first step in the process of Manifesting.

Another reason for writing the book in this way was that readers would be able to identify and see themselves and their own behaviors and thinking processes which block their attempts at manifesting. You can tell someone about their behavior all day long and they won’t necessarily see it. In Money and Manifesting, I’m presenting characters who have blocks to manifest their desires, not just money. If people can see themselves reflected, they then have the opportunity for growth and forward-moving change.

Nikki: Explain a little more about Integration and energy shift and how it applies to what’s in your book. How does this help anyone learn to manifest?

Dyan: The book itself is an exercise in Integration and chakra balance. I’ve taken what I’m doing already with my CD series and the rest of the tools in the Spiritual Toolbox a few steps further. For example, music and meditation each have the ability to shift a person energetically. Then if you put them together, you have an opportunity for another shift. Then you can take this process even further if you integrate that shift into your psyche by journaling about your meditation. It’s multi-dimensional Integration.

I’m using this as an example because you need to learn how to integrate in order to learn to manifest. The best and easiest way to learn to integrate is by actually doing it rather than by just reading about how to do it. So when you’re reading Money and Manifesting, your brain is going back and forth from a story which is processed by one part of self to information which is processed with a different part of the self. You can’t really process this book just with your mind because it’s not just information. You’re automatically integrating during the process of reading it.

Nikki: Leave us with something powerful to think about and integrate.

Dyan: Learning to manifest doesn’t have to take years and it isn’t difficult. There are no limitations to creating anything that you desire to create unless you believe there are. And there are no real secrets.

There is only the truth. The pursuit of money in and of itself is not a “bad” thing. It’s when you truly believe that money is real power that you are stuck in the illusion. Go back and figure out when you first became a piece of paper. Love is what everyone goes out of here saying and thinking about. There is no power in fear or illusion. There is no power in pieces of paper. The power is in the love.
